South is the dream of 2 Aussies and a Kiwi. Sydney superstar chef, Luke Mangan, owner of Glass Brasserie in Sydney and Salt in Tokyo, and wine maven  Liz O’Connell and restaurateur, Anna Weinberg.

Luke is the first Aussie chef with an international profile to open a restaurant in the United States, and he brings with him his unique Mod Oz style.  Anna is a career restaurant professional, with experience working with some of the best chefs in New York and San Francisco, as well as formerly owning Stella restaurant in New York City. Liz has spent much of her career as a wine industry executive, and brings a passion for the grape and extensive experience marketing Australia internationally.

South, the first uniquely down under restaurant in San Francisco, opened in October 2007 to great reviews. The South wine club and e-store launched in April 2008.
